What Is Express Entry?
Express Entry is an online system that manages permanent resident applications for the following immigration programs.
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Certain Provincial Nominee Programs, such as Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, BC Provincial Nominee Program

How Can One Apply for Express Entry?
The first step is to find out whether you are eligible for at least one of the immigration program processed under Express Entry. Eligibility assessment by a licenced and experienced immigration consultant or an immigration lawyer is crucial first step. If you are eligible and your score is likely be enough to receive an invitation from Express Entry Pool, we will advise you to prepare necessary documents to create your Express Entry Profile. Once you have necessary documents such as your English or French Langugae Test Results, Educational Credidential Assessment, we can create your Express Entry Profile. If you receive an invitation to apply for permanent resident application, you will be given certain number of days to submit your permanent resident application.
How Does It Work?
Express Entry’s points system is called “Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)” Candidates scored based on their age, education, work experience, knowledge of Canada’s official languages, whether they have previous work experience and education in Canada.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada withdraws the highest-ranking candidates from Express Entry Pool and invites them to apply for permanent resident status regularly.
Some Facts and Figures
In 2019, 239,115 Express Entry profiles were created. 85,300 applicants received invitation to apply for their perment resident status via Express Entry.
